About Us

Why we do it

Everybody who arrives in a new place meets an unexpected friend — someone who with kindness opens doors, makes hard things easier, and makes you feel that you can belong. We call this friend BOBI ;-).

Luckily, we had our share of BOBIs in our lives. They have inspired us to give back. So we are creating your own digital BOBI — to make you feel at home, understood, and represented.

Feel at home and support your community

Like-minded people around us make life more fulfilling, more fun, and waaaay easier:

  • A dermatologist that understands the unique beauty of your skin
  • A gynaecologist that speaks your language and shares your humour
  • A hairdresser that knows how to deal with your unique hair — not so unique after all, since almost everyone in your home country has it XD
  • A shop where the owner or security won't follow you around

Who is BOBI?

BOBI stands for Bold and Beautiful Individuals. It is also a play on words of all the previous project names we had in mind. This is to celebrate all the Bold and Beautiful Individuals — the pioneers — we met in our lives.

What FINDBOBI does

For business owners from underrepresented communities

FINDBOBI showcases local services and professionals from underrepresented communities to potential customers from their communities and others who want to support them. At our core, we bring local and underrepresented businesses more customers and help them generate more revenue.

For the end consumer

People from underrepresented communities often seek businesses with a specific skill, expertise, or specialty unique to their community. They also prefer services from similar communities because they share the same language, cultural understanding, and values — and they want to support those businesses.

At the moment, these potential customers have to search multiple online forums, Facebook or Telegram groups to find a trusted minority business with the sought-after expertise.

For consumers, we provide a trusted, dedicated, intersectional, crowd-sourced, open-source, and user-friendly platform where they can discover businesses and services that are unique to their needs, values, and culture.
